Each segment of the JinMao Tower is 1/8 smaller than the 16-story base. The design is similar to that of ancient Chinese Pagodas, stepping back to create a "rhythmic pattern as it rises". JinMao's landscaped courtyard has a reflecting pool and sitting area.
